Message from Interim Superintendent, Dr. Burgess: MSD’s commitment to safety, respect, and rights for all students

As a result of the federal government transitioning to a new administration, some changes may impact our students and community.

The Marysville School District and its schools remain steadfast in our commitment to students, staff, and families:

  • Every student enrolled in the Marysville School District has the right to a free, quality education in a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

  • We serve all students regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital or veteran status, disability, or the use of a guide dog or trained service animal.

  • Furthermore, we are committed to serving all students regardless of their household income, housing or immigration status, or involvement with the criminal justice system.

  • We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.

If you believe your child is being singled out, bullied, or harassed for any reason, please contact your school principal immediately. You can also report it HERE.

The Marysville School District will continue to uphold its policies, the state constitution, and federal laws to ensure all students have equal access to educational opportunities.

We are committed to the safety, well-being, and success of our students, families, and staff. This commitment remains unwavering.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Burgess
Interim Superintendent
