Welcome Back Community Letter

Dear QCT families, Friday, 8.28.2020

As we approach the start of the 2020-2021 school year, I would like to take a moment to officially welcome you and your children! I know our staff have missed our students and are so looking forward to reconnecting with them in September. I am seeing and hearing an incredible amount of love and care from our staff as they prepare. They are working hard to give their best to you and your child this Fall and beyond!

Yes, we continue to navigate unprecedented times. There is no doubt about that. My grandmother would say however, “in every challenge there is a gift,” and I have thought about those words of wisdom often in the last few weeks. As I have kept my eyes and heart open, looking for the gifts, I have come to some realizations about what opportunities arise with the distance learning model we will be experiencing with Marysville School District’s Continuous Learning 2.0 -- the opportunities for strengthening our partnerships with each of you, the innovation that comes with working with technology in this new way, having the gift of time as a child or family in a different way than we are afforded in a traditional school model. Is this ideal? No. Would we prefer to be together in-person? Of course. And yet once we have embraced what is, it frees us to consider what could be. As we partner this Fall to problem-solve and support one another I would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your commitment and dedication. Together, we can do great things!

As plans have been finalized at the district-level, we are now prepared to share out some of the details of the coming weeks. Listed below are our key plans and goals for the next two-weeks.  Additional information from our teachers and school will follow as we solidify more details.

Week of 8.31.2020 - 9.4.2020
The school office is open for registrations and to answer any questions you may have. Our office number is 360-965-3100.
Classroom placement information for students will be mailed home.

Week of

Family Connection Meetings will be held by classroom teachers on the 9th, 10th, or 11th. These meetings, which will be held in-person or remotely, are intended to help teachers and families build relationships, establish lines of communication, and determine what is needed for success with Continuous Learning 2.0.
Technology and basic supply packs from the district will be available for pick-up at the school, on the 9th, 10th and 11th.

We are tentatively planning Continuous Learning 2.0 Family Information Nights for the following dates. More information to come!

9.11.2020: Continuous Learning Information Night (Kinder)

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our school staff as questions arise. We will work at the school-level to support as best we can and help you to problem-solve any challenges that may arise.
